Hello,
I see that your homepage says EarSketch has done some work on Python support. I also see that you have done a fair amount of work on Python in these two pull requests (163, 187). I may be interested in contributing to Python support; where do you recommend I start?

EDIT: edited to make clear that I am not yet sure I'll have time 😅

Hey James - I just saw this. Me and a group of folks have already done an almost complete Python build at this point; it's mostly hidden because we haven't properly merged and tested it. But if you want to pitch in, I can point you to our fork (which someday we'll hopefully integrate into the main line!)

Is it in a runnable state? If possible, I'd like to try to use it and fix bugs if/when I find them.

It is runnable, though I'm sure there are still bugs. You can get to the fork (we want to merge back in, but it was a big task) here: https://github.com/cacticouncil/pencilcode

Reach out to me by email too if you want to chat more about the details. My email is on the faculty page here: https://www.cise.ufl.edu/people/faculty
