App crashes even without tampering on platform ios@5.0.1

The app just crashes when run on simulator or even through test flight. There is no tampering done, yet I get the error
Anti-Tampering check failed! PathNotFoundException: No readable path retrieved for file plugins/.DS_Store

Even if I add the ds_store extension to the variable EXCLUDE_ASSETS_EXTENSIONS, I get the same error.

Cordova version - 8.0.0
Ionic - 3.20.0
Platform - iOS (5.0.1)
(Note: First platform version was 5.1.1, but after reading a bug report on this version decided to downgrade it to 5.0.1. Still the same error)
