  • I have searched open and closed issues for duplicates.

Environment info

  • Duplicati version: 2.0.2.13_canary_2017-11-22
  • Operating system: Windows Server 2016
  • Backend: OneDrive

Description

I have a long backup scheduled that takes more than a day however duplicati pauses the backup after resuming from sleep every day. I have the server setup to go to sleep during the night but in the morning the backup is in paused mode. Also other scheduled backups do not start at all.

And to note, duplicati is configured as service.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Setup long backup
  2. Put computer to sleep
  3. Resume computer
  • Actual result:
Backup needs to be resumed manually
  • Expected result:
    Backup resumes after pause setting

Maybe something has been fixed (or changed), but my Windows 10 system exits paused state as specified after resume time.

The Settings screen has the configuration value, for example as below:

What confuses people (and possibly has also changed) is that paused state does not prevent an active backup from resuming, which is (I think) what you want here. On my system, it resumes while in paused state, which is a rather odd looking "picture".

Regardless of any differences over what exactly paused state can pause, I'm not seeing a problem with an exit of paused state.
I'm taking "paused mode" to mean icon at the top of the GUI screen shows an arrow to continue, and tray icon looks paused.

One can also recognize the paused state by About --> System info showing programState : Paused and pauseTimeRemain counting down milliseconds. When that hits zero, it goes programState : Running. It's counting my files all the time though.

is the visual change after the 5 minutes I specified in Settings reached zero. I'm testing Windows 10, both as a service and not. Destination is OneDrive. Is the problem still of interest and reproducible on a current Duplicati? It might be time for new issue.

was another case, but still without any solid clues. I don't know why the forum mention didn't post here, so updating by hand.
