In the product I'm working on, we automatically scrape the license files from the installed Python packages, so for each of the few packages that does not include its license files, we have to manually collect that and make sure we keep it up to date when updating to a new version of the package.

If you can add the license file to the distribution, that would be helpful to me.

The COPYRIGHT is in sdist. Maybe the problem is that the file is not referenced from the PKG-INFO file.
