#This list is compiled on 12th Jan. 2016 by Vihari Piratla
#The list contains abbreviations/short forms including some acronyms
#Since major chunk of this list is from Oxford Dictionary, follow the below rules to interpret the entries.
#1. ignore the stuff in circular brackets if preceded by a non-word character
#2. if the bracket appears right after a word, interpret the thing inside brackets as possible variations of the word itself.
# For example: litearl(ly) should be interpreted as literal, literally
#3. Both the abbreviation and expansion can be multiple-word, as in [Comp. Anat. Comparitive Anatomy]
# Such short forms are practically useless, but I did not attempt to clean them; since all such words in these phrases often also appear independently
#4. There can be multiple expansions to the right on the same line separated by ', '
#5. The periods in abbreviations are fairly accurate, some abbreviations do not contain 'period', like cm, km, BLDG etc. But some should have a period, else they may mean something else. For example apt. without the period means something else.
#6. Dont rely on casing too much, since the list is curated from various sources, there are entries which are all CAPS.
#7. An abbreviation on left can map to multiple expansions on the right
#8. Use \s{2,} as separator, I hate the confusion that tabs and multiple spaces create
#9. Needless to say, ignore lines starting with '#' while parsing this file
