the transition is solid black in OpenEmu and CrabEmu

  1. load game
  2. choose map edit
  3. choose slot 1
    (observe transition)

I did notice that in some other games too, but since it doesn't affect actual gameplay I didn't look too carefully. There are a couple unimplemented graphics operations that might fix this (background tile priority flag?). Will look into it.

Apparently there is a "BLANK THE DISPLAY RIGHT NOW" flag the game sets that I completely forgot about.
