Currently utility method names in taquito/utils can be very ambiguous and misleading.

Evaluate and deprecate the old names in favour of new, descriptive naming for the methods.

Example:
char2Bytes vs hex2Bytes

Solution:
Evaluate the util functions to have descriptive names related to its functionality
