I recently noticed that the counter seems to have a tiny bug: it suddenly decrease from a random numbers of items each time the extension is launched (for example, it goes from 55 to 35 unread messages in a few seconds).

I supposed this problem may probably be linked with #78, but I am not certain (as it was not described in the previous issue).
