libmosquitto used normaly pthreads. Under WIN32 this is a problem and i can not use the -DWITH_THREADING switch.

is a header-only implementation of pthreads for Windows. With this header i can use -DWITH_THREADING under Windows without change the libmosquitto sources and a work perfekt.
Can't you put that into your code and the Windows/Linux differences would have gone away with minimal effort?
