After offline discussions, we're going with metacommunity.

Reviewers comments have forced these changes, so all uses of super- have switched to meta-. In particular a supercommunity (a collection of linked subcommunities) is now a metacommunity. Apologies for the inconvenience. These changes are now in master, and will go live with other major changes in v0.3.
