Scroll to top example

For some reason I have never managed to get any of these sticky plugins to work properly.

Not sure if it's me, or they are so particular that if you make a mistake, you are f***ed.

Anyway, would you be able to provide / explain how to do a "Scroll to top" example?

Basically I want the ^ icon to sit on the bottom of the screen, then as the page scrolls, the footer pushes it up (otherwise the icon would go over the footer and obscure the text)
