Notepad++ changed?

I copied the userDefinedLang.xml to the Program Files (x86)/Notepad++ folder and I don't see any syntax highlighting for my .md file. Am I missing something?

Did you import the language into Notepad++?

Language Tab > Define your Language... >

Then click import and choose the file you have saved.

There doesn't seem to be a markdown language.

I updated the "How to Use" section. Please try again. I think the import feature in NPP works like a charm now!
