Around the same time as installing the extension, I found an annoying in-window pop-up at https://medium.com/firefox-test-pilot/so-hows-screenshots-doing-f0fbb5e9351f but (unless I'm missing something) no appearance of the icon for the extension:

Environment

Waterfox 56.1.0_1 on FreeBSD-CURRENT.

Extension installed 19:27:23 – around nine minutes before the screenshot above, I'm fairly sure that installation preceded the appearance of a pop-up.

This is strange... The icon has now moved to the URL bar, has it moved there for you?

I don't see it at all.

Should it appear only when a pop-up is detected?

I used to use this extension with no problem, but as of late the icon is missing from the URL bar. I'm using the standard Firefox on the current Debian. (Mozilla Firefox 52.7.3 on Debian GNU/Linux 9.4). I tried disabling and re-enabling and there's still no icon.

@grahamperrin The icon used to be always present. After all, the point of this is to collect data to detect pop-ups in the future.

I was about to use it today and the icon is gone as well. Did not realize it until now.
Running v1.6 on FF 60.0.2 (64-bit).

Testing now with Firefox Quantum. Can someone suggest the URL of a page where a pop-up appears and should 'trigger' this extension?

TIA

Firefox ESR 52.8.1 (64-bit) on Mac OS X 10.9.5:

  • no icon.

Waterfox 56.2.1 on FreeBSD-CURRENT:

  • no icon.

Firefox 61.0 (64-bit) on FreeBSD-CURRENT:

  • the icon is visible
  • the extension is usable 👍

$ pkg info firefox | grep Version

@ehsan if you can (please) make the extension compatible with Firefox ESR 52.x for the last few weeks of its life, then we'll probably gain the longer-term benefit of reports from users of Waterfox 56.x.

TIA

Release note for 1.6:

Update the user interface according to Firefox UI design guidelines.

Where 1.6 fails with Waterfox, 1.5 https://addons.mozilla.org/addon/in-page-pop-up-reporter/versions/?page=1#version-1.5 succeeds.

@ehsan if 1.5 is as good (for reporting purposes) as 1.6 – and if 1.5 works for Firefox ESR 52.8.1 – then you can ignore my previous plea for compatibility and :-) this issue can be closed. (Users can be advised to disallow updates to the extension.)

Sorry, I forgot the more recent ESR.

… v1.6 on FF 60.0.2 (64-bit).

1.6 with Firefox ESR 60.0.2 (64-bit) on Mac OS X 10.9.5:

  • the icon is visible (in the address bar)
  • the extension is usable 👍
