Missing support for status command of the elasticsearch service

The contract for elasticsearch within chef as a service has been setup to suggest that it can support :status

But I don't see a place where the status_command (refer to http://wiki.opscode.com/display/chef/Resources) is being set, I checked by cloning the repo and searching for it:
