In the section 'using scripts to make partial updates' it should probably be mentioned that dynamic scripting is disabled by default since version 1.2.0. Probably, one should also add how to enable it (and warn that it is a bad practise?)

I was going to comment on the same issue. I understand writing technical documentation for something that is a rapidly moving target is difficult, but the as-of-now deprecation of MVEL and soon-to-be removal is something that should be addressed.
The removal of MVEL is a far bigger issue than changing the default scripting language. Perhaps keep the scripts as is with a disclaimer and a pointer to the mvel plugin?
As ES 1.4 will be out before the book is published, I've updated this section to talk about Groovy as the default scripting language, and mention that it is sandboxed. The script examples themselves work as they are, so don't need updating.
