Is there any chance you're attempting to run Kibana from source, and not from what you downloaded from the downloads page here?

Also - By IOS, do you mean OSX?

I also have the same issue.
I am trying to test latest build of kibana : kibana-6.0.0-alpha1-SNAPSHOT-linux-x86_64
When I run the bin/kibana script I get the error :

log [07:04:15.240] [error][status][plugin:elasticsearch@6.0.0-alpha1-SNAPSHOT] Status changed from yellow to red - This version of Kibana requires Elasticsearch v6.0.0-alpha1-SNAPSHOT on all nodes. I found the following incompatible nodes in your cluster: v5.2.1 @ 127.0.0.1:9200 (127.0.0.1)

Kibana 6 has already been released, so I assume this issue no longer persists. Please feel free to reopen this, if you are still seeing this issue.
