Configurable default route w/ link

For K4, would be awesome to have a customizable top nav link that could be enabled. If enabled, it could show up to the right of the "navbar-timepicker-timefilter-desc", and a user could customize the display text of the link and where the link would go to.

Can you explain the use case a bit better? This sounds like a niche customization that would better be done in code?

In Kibana3 there was a home button:

In Kibana4, there isn't a home button. By allowing it to be customizable, a similar button in function could link you back to a main portal, a specific dashboard, or even documentation.

Ah, ok the home button was used for the default route in K3. I've updated the title to reflect this

Tested this and it seems to be working (in kibana.yml):

default_app_id: "dashboard/My-home-dashboard"

where "My home dashboard" is the name of a saved dashboard in Kibana.
