Kibana uses an index in Elasticsearch to store saved searches, visualizations, and dashboards. Kibana creates a new index if the index doesn’t already exist. If you configure a custom index, the name must be lowercase, and conform to the Elasticsearch index name limitations. Default: ".kibana"
Check what actually happens:
You get an alias kibanaindex created pointing to an new index created.
Errors in browser console (if relevant):
Provide logs and/or server output (if relevant):
Describe the feature:
It looks like the documentation has not been updated about the fact Kibana is using aliases.
Could we update the documentation about this? It is confusing as it stands.
