Kibana's Plugin Module in Beta 2 also carries the disclaimer not to write custom plugins.

Wondering whether Kibana team plans to change that in the coming version? In particular, I was looking at customizing the dashboards or having navigation menus within Kibana as standalone application instead of using Kibana dashboards to feed into one more application with iframes etc.

We have no plans to support plugins at this time, when we reach that point we will open a design ticket. Closing.
