Steps to reproduce

  1. Ensure you're running v1.11.68
  2. Start a video call with a friend
  3. Attempt to share your screen

Outcome

What did you expect?

  • I should be able to successfully share my screen

What happened instead?

  • Call with immediately end with a "connection failed" message

Everything seems to be fine with 1.11.68 running on Ubuntu 22.04, so this issue may only impact macOS users.

👉 Update: Workaround available

Downgrading to v1.11.67 fixed my issue.

I can reliably reproduce this using Element Desktop version: 1.11.68/Crypto version: Rust SDK 0.7.0 (068a0af), Vodozemac 0.6.0 on macOS Sonoma 14.5. This does not happen on Windows either according to one customer. So as mentioned above, seems to only affect Mac

I upgraded to v1.11.69 and it fixed my issue. Thanks Element team!
