Sometimes I get "Unable to decrypt: Error: Duplicate message index, possible replay attack".
It generally happens after sending a file over Element.

Element 1.2.5, Element Desktop: 1.7.22
iOS 14.4, Windows 10

Thanks @yoman88111 for the report.

To reproduce it:

  • Send a message within Element
  • Put the app in background
  • Use another app like Photos to share a photo to this room
  • Come back to Element and send a message to this room

-> This 2nd message will be "Unable to decrypt: Error: Duplicate message index, possible replay attack"

This error is still happening for me and reproducible, with current TestFlight Beta (1.10.2 20230210134131). Should I open a new issue or should this be reopened?

This happens regularly because I regularly send screenshots with the share sheet.
