Set up secure backup toast doesn't go away #16245
Comments
@turt2live Can you include a screenshot of Settings -> Security -> Cross-signing for your account? |
(this is on FOSDEM btw) |
@turt2live Does pressing the green setup button in that screenshot fix things? |
No, it prints debug info and says it is ready but it isn't. |
@turt2live Hmm, so the toast is appearing because private keys haven't been added to secret storage... I wonder if this intermittent failed during initial setup. You mention that going through the toast asked for a "password"... Does the mean security key / phrase? If yes, I believe it's indeed trying to fix the issue by storing your private keys in secret storage, which it needs your security key to access. If the toast doesn't help, please check the Settings -> Security -> Secret Storage section (near the Cross-signing section), which should have a similar green "Set up" button. I believe this one should fix things up, though the toast calls a similar path, so really either should work. |
I walked through the prompts and the dialog disappeared which I presume to mean it set everything up. The toast still remained though, and clicking it again asks for my password, giving an impression it is in fact set up
