Steps to reproduce

Usage of the terms profile picture and avatar in the various avatar change messages displayed in the room views seems to be somewhat random. In single messages it uses the term "profile picture", in the merged messages it uses the term "avatar". It should stick to one, IMHO.

e.g.

  • TurtleWilly set a profile picture
  • TurtleWilly changed their avatar, ElephantJoe and one other joined
  • TurtleWilly and 2 others joined, CrocodileDon changed their avatar
    etc.

Outcome

What did you expect?

Uniform usage of either "profile picture" or "avatar" in the messages about avatar changes.

My personal choice here would be "profile picture". Less ambiguous and more professional sounding. In the app's preferences it is called "Avatar" currently, so that would need to match in the end too, of course.

What happened instead?

The terms "profile picture" and "avatar" are used to describe the same thing, often in room messages directly above each other which is especially weird looking and confusing: makes users wonder if "avatar" perhaps refers to something else than "profile picture".
