Feature to hide all dms in a space from general view #19649
Comments
That's because that room is a DM and DMs are shown on home |
Updated the issue. So I guess what I want is dms gone from home if they're in a specific space. |
#20199 might be a dupe. FWIW, this actually confused me quite a bit today. I added the mautrix-twitter bridge for DMs, which promptly created a bunch of rooms for old Twitter conversations. Unfortunately, these sorted to the top of my People list, making it basically unusable since the first 10-15 were essentially empty rooms representing old Twitter conversations. I created a Twitter space for the bot and all these contacts, added the conversations, but they still appeared on my home tab--this, despite me wanting rooms for specific spaces to only be listed in that space. Granted, this is the first space I've had with direct, non-group conversations in it. Still, I was surprised by this inconsistency. I could imagine moving work-related conversations to a work-related space, for instance. But this is one of the first bridges I've installed, and if they're all going to dump a bunch of contacts into my main space, it's going to get a bit overwhelming to manage. Thanks. |
"hiding" rooms does work, however DMs not and this is so frustrating. Did any of you found a work arround? |
Are there any news on this? |
Your use case
What would you like to do?
I have a space with work related things.
I would like to hide this space's dms from the general (non-space) view.
Why would you like to do it?
Less clutter.
How would you like to achieve it?
Perhaps an option in the space to set it so the space's channels don't show up in the general view that is editable per-user.
Have you considered any alternatives?
Putting my personal stuff into it's own space, but this is just not feasible.
