Steps to reproduce

These steps do not reproduce every time but I've had this occur 4 times over the past 2 days.

  1. Type out a message
    • I've reproduced this in the main message input and in the thread message input
  2. Activate the native Windows 10 emoji picker via Win + .
  3. Search for slight and select the slightly smiling face
  4. The page goes unresponsive and Chrome will eventually kill the page

I mainly use Element from Windows 10 in a browser so that is where I am noticing this. Not sure if it applies to other environments.

I also haven't experienced this yet in other web pages like GitHub or GitLab where I also type emoji.

Outcome

What did you expect?

Emoji is input without any trouble

What happened instead?

Page goes unresponsive and is killed by Chrome after a while. And the message draft is not stored so I have re-type everything after waiting for the page to load again.

Will you send logs?

No. I would send rage-shake logs but the page goes unresponsive and crashes before I can.
