Steps to reproduce

  1. Join https://matrix.to/#/#megolm:matrix.org (like 3 weeks ago)
  2. Be able to read most messages (some not due to UTD, probably not the issue of my Element as others also couldn't read those messages)
  3. Write 2 messages
  4. See "You can't see earlier messages" and now only be able to read messages from yesterday and today
  5. Write another message again
  6. Message history reappears again

Outcome

What did you expect?

As I was before, except for some messages, I expect to be able to read the history at all times.

What happened instead?

First after writing two messages, "You can't see earlier messages" appeared (sadly don't have a screenshot). After asking the others of the room if they have the same issue, the message history reappeared again correctly. Probably has something to do with those two consecutive "unable to decrypt" messages:

seems like a duplicate of element-hq/element-meta#838 or #22671 or #22544
