Steps to reproduce

  1. Open Crypto | Internal (in my case, the threads list view was open, but not any particular thread)
  2. Stay there for a few minutes
  3. 馃帀 falls from the sky
  4. 馃帀 falls from the sky
  5. 馃帀 falls from the sky
  6. 馃帀 falls from the sky
  7. 馃帀 falls from the sky
  8. 馃帀 falls from the sky
  9. 馃帀 falls from the sky
  10. etc

Outcome

What did you expect?

Chat effects to not happen: there was no message which should have triggered them. All messages with confetti were well in the past (February 9th).

What happened instead?

Lots of confetti. Sometimes it even interrupted itself.

A possible theory is the threads list view is re-rendering with each /sync, and that's causing an amount of confetti.
