Hi,

im using elementary OS 5 on a 13inch 2015 Macbook Pro. When i boot it wired on ethernet (through thunderbolt adapter), everything works fine,

but if i unplug and replug the cable, the OS just doesnt detect the cable, even though my switch LED turns on.

I've tested the cable multiple times with other laptops with no problem.

Sounds like a bug in the upstream Ubuntu/Linux Kernel ethernet driver for whatever ethernet chipset the 2015 MBP uses.

This getting started guide on reporting kernel bugs might be of help.
