Change color depending on dark/light style when translucency is disabled #389
Comments
Hi. Could you check elementary/stylesheet#324. Is it the same issue? If yes, please read elementary/stylesheet#324 (comment) to see why the Dock remains white even when the Wingpanel changes color and please close this issue. Thanks. |
Hello. Just to be clear this is not an issue but a design change proposal. In settings you have the option to disable panel translucency as shown in this screenshot: And here's how it looks like in elementary OS 5.1.7 Hera: I was just suggesting what if the made the Wingpanel a greyish gradient color that matches the dock instead of black I think it looks better and it gives me old school OS X vibes here's the example from OS X Mountain Lion: I made an edit on GIMP to see what it would look like if we implemented a same design on elementary OS here's the picture: |
Or if you guys want the leave the Wingpanel black so it fades with the display bezel when panel translucency is off or a window is maximized we can add an option for the user to choose a color for the panel. |
Proposal
Hey guys, I hope you're all doing well. So I just wanted suggest what if we made the Wingpanel match the dock instead of black when panel translucency is off or when a window is maximized for better consistency in the UI.
