I had the same problem after I upgraded jupyter-core to 5.6.0 recently. The version of 5.5.1 works. |

I had this same problem. I'm running Emacs 29.2 on MacOS (installed via homebrew tap emacs-plus@29; https://github.com/d12frosted/homebrew-emacs-plus). I installed emacs-jupyter using straight.el from the github repo. Now, strangely enough, when I start emacs with I'm running the jupyter kernel installed in a micromamba environment (using micromamba.el).
