Here are some qualities of SquareSpace I found from doing research a couple of weeks ago:
Pros
SquareSpace supports varying levels of no-code or fully self-coded solutions:
Can add custom code and CSS (i.e. mixing no code with code)
Can fully modify the site (i.e. only doing code) with the "SquareSpace Developer Platform" option, which is available for business or commerce plans
Under this solution, developers can access the website files using git or SFTP, which makes remote collaboration easier
Can use a purely no-code solution, using style editor to edit the demo templates or start with a blank page and add content as desired
Cons
There are a lot of plugins available on SquareSpace to extend a website's functionality, but the article I read did caution to use only plugins from trusted developers / third parties
