I originally posted this in the node-switchmate page but figured it would make sense to also leave this here:

A new firmware dropped for the original switchmates. The new firmware is 2.99.99 and it seems that node-switchmate no longer works properly. I can't find any devices with the ./discover.switchmate command. I've ran with sudo and without.

This also breaks compatibility with homebridge.

Hopefully this is an easy fix and can be fixed soon.

Thanks!

Same exact issue here, still looking for a solution this switchmate script was integral to my smart home set up and now has broken after the firmware update.

Same issue here - has anyone found a solution or a workaround yet?

I've been diving deeper into this issue on my repo and even got the (positive) attention of Switchmate: brianpeiris/switchmate#6

I figured how to downgrade the Switchmate firmware. It should be helpful for people who have this issue. Check here: switchmate-firmwares.

@valkjsaaa - which firmware version did you downgrade to?

Edit: I see at switchmate-firmwares you list the versions you’ve confirmed as working. Unfortunately I’m using the Switchmate Lights, I’ll report back if I get them working.

Apparently a newer firmware is out, but the public beta is TBD (see Brian’s link). It may be possible to get this script working again.
