Could we introduce another template to create data patches that work with Mark's SimpleData module?

That would be great!

Sure, sounds like a good idea, but we will release it as a unique package, which will require Marks module.

@peterjaap an extra composer package was created for this
https://github.com/enanobots/m2-datapatchcreator-simpledata

  • you need to update the main module as it had a small code change to assure this flexibility.
