Image is barely visible

Hello, I have a 16 hertz UNO Arduino UNO R3 compatible clone, and I had 
soldered together a cable for the TVout using the required resistors, and got 
the sketch to compile and upload, but when I hook up the board to my HDTV, the 
image comes up barely visible, meaning that the image is there, but everything 
is a very dark grey. I know this is not a problem with my TV, because when I 
hook up, say my SNES to the A/V port, that image comes out fine. Any 
suggestions?

Also, I could only get the image to come up with TVout_R5.91, beta 1 wouldn't 
work at all.
