Missing/invalid specification of build-time dependencies

Installation of mayavi through poetry fails due to numpy not being available at build time. This happens because the package is built in a temporary environment, but the build time dependencies are unspecified, as diagnosed in the reply to the issue I reported to poetry: python-poetry/poetry#4543 (comment)

Would it be possible to add a pyproject.toml file specifying the build environment, so that mayavi can be installed with tools such as poetry?
