Common error while trying to start a cluster

I've been making clusters with this module this afternoon and have been getting one or more nodes failing to come up with this error in /var/log/cloud-init-output.log:

[download-certs] Downloading the certificates in Secret "kubeadm-certs" in the "kube-system" Namespace error execution phase control-plane-prepare/download-certs: error downloading certs: error downloading the secret: the server was unable to return a response in the time allotted, but may still be processing the request (get secrets kubeadm-certs

Not a lot to go on, but suggests a need to adjust timeouts for kubeadm and or not starting control plane nodes in parallel.
