[Feature] Fine-grained control over compact layout

The compact layout is great, but I don't necessarily want everything to be small. For example, while I definitely want the left toolbar and nav bar to be small, I'd prefer the macro hotbar and sidebar to be regular size. Being able to pick and choose those elements would be fantastic.
