What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. ./configure
2.
3.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: successful run of ./configure
What I get: checking for FT2... configure: error: Package requirements

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I'm using the most recent version of gource (updated on Oct 16th) on CentOS 7.
Please provide any additional information below.
I updated freetype2, then tried again. I then checked the version of freetype
with freetype-config --version, and am currently using 17.2.11. What can I do
to work around this issue?

It looks like pkg-config isn't able to verify you have the right version of
freetype2.
It will be looking for a file called freetype2.pc . You probably want to check
you have that file and it's up to date and it's in the right place.
