Will --syncmode=light work post-merge? #25623
Comments
syncmode=light |
I know it's very annoying to ask about when something will be complete, but a somewhat approximate guess would be much appreciated. The ETH wallet in the DCRDEX (https://github.com/decred/dcrdex) is built using LES, so it would be cool if we could tell the stakeholders something. |
LES will not really work for a brief period after the merge, sorry we did not have the time to ship both the merge and support for it in LES. There is some support and you could try to run it, but I'm pretty sure it won't work reliably |
At this time, support for LES after the merge is under heavy development. We are hoping to ship an experimental version of standalone LES-on-PoS in late October. |
what is current status of this? any hope?

Anyone find a solution? same error for me @encryptblockr did you find a way ? |
any update on this ? |
How to gain profit |
Myeah, there's no ETA on getting LES to work, so for now I'll close it as non-functional. |
I was told in the ethereum.org discord that light clients will not work on mainnet post merge. On Goerli I was not able to sync, but on Sepolia I have fully synced using
--syncmode=light
, so I'm asking here for confirmation. Thanks in advance.The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
