───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Taskhive is a mobile and desktop application for freelancers.
It divides workload into tasks to minimize misunderstandings
and liabilities.
The Taskhive marketplace enables you to buy and sell any
service, and pay for it in any payment method you want, from
anywhere in the world.
Reputation Network
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Taskhive is built around the assumption that payments for
services online are inherently risky -- which is why Taskhive
utilizes a transparent reputation network. This way, you are in
control of how much trust you are willing to give.
The task-based payment model of Taskhive limits profitability
of fraud and decreases misunderstandings, while simultaneously
helping users build reputations faster.
Contracts
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Taskhive employs many contract and license templates that can
cover most types of tasks. You can also edit them freely and
design your own contract.
These contracts, while legally binding, are designed primarily
for transparency between parties, to limit misunderstandings,
and to support claims in the event of dispute with escrow.
Escrow
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Taskhive is designed as a direct person-to-person transaction
marketplace. In some cases, however, it is wise to use an escrow
to offset risk of fraud (e.g. when dealing with someone with no
reputation, or when dealing with someone who is anonymous).
Escrow agents are one of the many worker categories of the
decentralized marketplace, and anyone can offer their own escrow
services as one.
Payment facilitation
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
One of the benefits of using an escrow agent is that as long as
the agent offers faciliation, you can pay in one payment
method and have the agent remit the final balance using
another.
This is especially useful for people who wish to transact with
cryptocurrencies that either party is unfamiliar with.

───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
There is no shortage of freelance or micro-tasking internet
sites, but the philosophy and technology of Taskhive is what
sets it apart from the rest.
Libre
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Taskhive is free(libre), open source software (FOSS/FLOSS).
Anyone can crack open the code and see what it does, modify
it, and share it with the world. But most importantly, it
can be audited and prove that it is not doing anything
milacious.
Taskhive is made in a completely FOSS environment by strong
supporters of libre software.
Free
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Taskhive is free(as in beer). There is no charge to do any
business on Taskhive. The exceptions are cases when escrow is
involved to mitigate financial risk. This is charged at the
market rate offered by the agent themselves.
All expenses for development of Taskhive are paid in full by
generous donations from third parties and the continued support
from the RZZT collective.
Taskhive will always be free.
Privacy / Decentralization
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Taskhive is built from the ground up around user privacy. It is
developed with the assumption that local networks and ISPs
(either maliciously or by mandate) may be spying on your
traffic, and that your well-being is at risk from oppressive
regimes.
Security
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Perfect security does not exist, but the next best thing is
actively developed and patched open source code, publicly
auditable contributions, and regular audits.
Taskhive, via philosophy of RZZT, strives to keep security and
privacy standards high, and to do right by its users with
its transparent policies.
Taskhive is written with the assumption that it will eventually
be exploited, and that the challenge to keep users safe will be
a neverending battle requiring constant vigilence.
Freedom
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Centralized sites often bottleneck users into a preferred
payment method. This often creates issues of seizure, fraud,
censorship, and privacy invasion by overreaching and
too-big-to-care service providers.
Taskhive facilitates a truly free market with regards to
payments -- any payment method users are willing to trade
in will be supported.
Censoship-resistant
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Censorship resistance is an important part of Taskhive's
freedom. It is the first freelancer network that allows its
users to decide for themselves what category of tasks they want
to offer services in, what payment methods they want to use,
and who and what services they want to trust, with no hard
moderation or accounts to ban.
The guessing work and bureaucracy is finally gone and the flood
gates of true free trade are open.
Task-based
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Taskhive is task-based, meaning you don't pay for mystery
hours or future promises -- you pay for the individual tasks
you need and nothing more. This makes communicating, switching
workers out, and reaching goals a simpler and less costly
process.
For workers who wish to continue using hourly rates, they may
do so by selling blocks of time as a task itself (e.g. 10 hours
of design work) as may be necessary for tasks with no clear
outcome.

RZZT is a member of the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and
the Free Software Foundation (FSF). It is dedicated to promoting
user privacy, security and freedom.
RZZT produces various desktop and mobile tools, applications and
games to help tip the balance towards FOSS and privacy as a
standard.
As a FOSS project though, there will be various contributors to
Taskhive -- no single entity controls it or is responsible for
it. Like all FOSS projects, it survives and grows due to self
interest.

Taskhive utilizes Bitmessage, a decentralized anonymous
messaging network. It has no need for traditional centralized
servers that can be compromised, leaked and broken. As an open
source program, it does not have the ability to spy on its
users without them knowing.
Thanks to Bitmessage's robust decentralized network storage,
Taskhive can function without the need for a single
point-of-failure database server, nor worry about hosting
costs that other services use as an excuse for fee gouging.

Taskhive is expected for alpha release sometime in 2017.
Since Taskhive will be empowering many citizens of the world
to reclaim their financial freedom through honest work, it is
imperative that it live up to its claims and not let its users
be subject to attack from oppressive regimes.
Given the difficulties of forcing bug fixes in a truly
decentralized project, great care is being taken to allow for
backwards compatibility, rock-hard security, and to ensue that
all claims of privacy can be backed up with testing and proper
auditing.

───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
One of the significant benefits of being a decentralized, p2p
network, is that location simply doesn't matter. Anyone from
anywhere can participate in the freelancer marketplace,
commissioning work from others, or offering services of their
own.
Taskhive can help equalize the market, rewarding the skilled,
knowledgeable, handy and available equally for their involvement.
No more politics -- just free market!
