Well, it is not so critical issue to fix in v1. But it would be good to try to fix it in v2.

Actually, a resource is requested once via a network and executed once.

If you would put "alert('test')" in that script, it is executed once. FireFox FireBug, Chrome Developer Tools and Fiddler show a single request.

So, it is something specific to IE and its Developer Tools. And, in addition, it really should not break anything.
