"I'm also pondering three additional changes in my own mod: (1) stopping the teleport storms from supplying jewellery; (2) working out how to make the Bull Tower guards demand all four gold bars from the Mint so you can't sneak three of them over to Bucia to exchange; (3) making the False Coin spell only duplicate a stack of coins, rather than multiplying it by six."
(1) Using Exult Studio, we can see the code for the egg is 0x7AD. It uses some externals as 0x93D, 0x93E, and 0x93F. The last one lists 937, the shape number for jewelry. You would need to remove that from the array list, and the matching frame in the same position of the second variable.
(2) The Pikeman code is 0xE4. The shape 646 is mentioned twice there. So the check would be "if (hasItemCount(PARTY, 4, 646, ANY, 2))" instead of 1, and again on "UI_remove_party_items(4, 646, ANY, ANY, 0);". You don't need to re-implement the whole function, just the relevant part for that NPC ID.
(3) FalseCoin is 0x64A. I think the line to lower the count from 5 down to your desired number is "if (!(var0007 < 5))".
