I just pushed a first preliminary implementation to github at
http://github.com/BjoKaSH/mac-zfs.git  it is in a new branch port_libumem.  
Branch
point is pre_merge_72 in Alex's repository, i.e. the revision corresponding to 
the
binary installers.
Current libumem port is only usefull for libzpool and ztest.
