Nowadays there are many deployment environments based on K8S.
As a developer you might not have any SSH access, rather you only get access through the K8S API.

It would be very convenient to be able to connect with fabric to a running K8S pod/container.

As that is not over SSH, I don't think it falls under the scope of this project
