Windows 11, Carla 2.5.8, Intel i7 8700k, MOTU Ultralite mark 5 using ASIO driver, 48kHz sample rate.
I'm using Carla standalone in patchbay mode with ~15 plugins, some of them in parallel. I have to maintain a buffer size of 512 in order for it be useable in practice, with eventual rare crackling. To be 100% safe I need 1024 buffer size. With buffer of 128 I have crackling all the time...
But using another host (Pedalboard2) with pretty much the same plugins, same graph, I can get away with a 64 sample buffer size with rare crackling, 128 is 100% safe there.
So there seems to be some kind of performance bleed in Carla that's worth investigating if we aim for it to be a relevant alternative for Windows users.
