Set first element as empty (or hint text)

Allow first / default selected spinner item to be empty and/or contain hint text. i.e "please choose an option". Once a value is selected the empty selection is removed so it cannot be reselected. This enhancement maybe a little project specific?.

I definitely agree with this!

There could be an XML attribute such as ls:defaultItem, and a Java method setDefaultItem(CharSequence text).

Hi @scottyab ,

I just wanted to let you know I haven't forgotten about this and I was working on the feature in February. I have been studying for exams at school which is why I haven't had time to work on the feature or update this library in a while.

I'll try to work on it again in a couple weeks time.
