First off, SecondScreen is awesome. It makes using my Huawei Mate 20 X with a USB-C to HDMI dongle and a large 1080p TV so much nicer.

Setting he resolution to 1080p, lowering DPI, and forcing landscape, works great except for one issue. In phone mode (as opposed to Huawei's special desktop mode), there is a black bar running up and down the left border of the screen, about 100px wide.

The black border has nothing to do with overscan (which I've disabled). I know this because the Android mouse can be seen hovering over it if I move the mouse to the left edge. It's just that no apps will be drawn in the 100px gap. It almost seems the black bar reserving space for a non-existent status bar.

It's probably a bug with Huawei's Android 9, but is there any way to fix it with SecondScreen?

Hi, first i have to say im very impressed, finally i can use my oneplus 7t for retroarch emulation without these damned black borders cause its keeping its default screen ratio 21:9 or something like that, with the app it works well but with exactly this issue.

if i activate the 1920x1080p mode with auto rotation on (force auto rotate) it works pretty well except the black bar, if i activate the notch compatibility mode in the settings it gets very broke, after activating the profile the screen shows not 1920x1080, it shows.... sry my english... it isnt my native language, instead of staying in potrait mode its turning to landscape 1920x1080 but the screen orientation wont change, so that the picture is really small and the touchscreen doesnt work anymore only if notch compatibility is activated.

now the fix: if i uncheck the notch compatibility and go in the device settings > display >notch display and hide the notch area (the whole screen just adds a black bar instead of having a notch, even the status bar is lowered so the whole upper area is black) then after applying the 1080p profile the black bar on the left is gone (or on the right, depending on how you held your smartphone)

sry for my bad english, it isnt my native language, i hope this could help somehow :)

Notch Setting to hide the black bar
3 Notch Setting to hide the black bar

Screenmirror with notch in system off (this works perfectly)
4 Screenmirror with notch in system off

Sry for the random picture rotation, if you click on them theyre like they should, idk why the thumbnails are rotated like this.....
