Lizzie is not loading. Mac #672
Comments
+1, same issue. Lizzie loads, then asks you to select the engine. When you select the default options, Lizzie crashes with the above error. Version details below. Lizzie Version 0.7.2 MacOS 10.14.6 Java version "1.8.0_231" |
I've tried downloading Lizzie all the way back to version 0.4 and in every case the client either crashes or does not load. I tried this on a friend's computer too and had the same problem. I've tried it on a late 2012 iMac and a Macbook (2015 I believe) running macOS Mojave 10.14.6. Strange that I can't get a single version to work. For 0.7 0.6 and 0.5 the initial dialog opens and then crashes as soon as I press the "OK" button. I get the message: "The Java JAR file "lizzie.jar" could not be launched. Check the Console for possible error messages." I don't actually know how to view the Java console, I have tried a few things but haven't been able to access it. If anyone has tips on how to do this, I will post the console output. I tried clicking the "show console" and "show logs" options in my Java settings but didn't see anything when I ran Lizzie. |
Well I somehow didn't think to just run the jar file from the command line. So here's the error output I got:

Ok I feel really dumb. I was missing one of the very obvious steps in the readme file. You need to add the Leela Zero to the Lizzie directory. On a mac, you can install Leela Zero using Homebrew:
Then copy the file |
