Summary

In some cases it may be impractical or disruptive to users to assume the current deprecation policy has no exceptions, e.g., if an endpoint name cannot change but we want to change an underlying functionality that would necessitate a hot switching. As the deprecation policy is written, it would require two endpoints to exist simultaneously.
