Ran into a problem with an override where we coordinated two packages. One was "mine", I had write permissions to that. The other was "his", I hadn't write permissions to that.

I built my package and created an override. My partner rebuilt his package using the override. However, I could not add his package to the update - bodhi complained that I had no write permissions to his package.

I don't really understand why I should need package write permissions to add add a build of it to an update. However, if this requirement cannot be relaxed it should IMHO at least be possible to add a package to an override if it's built using that very override.
